Stumbling into an Obsession
Food Writing, Culinary History, Recipes & Styling, and Photography
After a successful career in travel and hospitality, Jennifer took up writing full time, parlaying humorous aspects of her life as an expatriate in Russia and her cross-cultural marriage into columns, blog posts, features, and articles.
Jennifer stumbled into food writing and photography after volunteering to write a piece about Julia Child. What had once been a weekend hobby — visiting Moscow’s farmers’ markets, experimenting in the kitchen and entertaining friends — steadily became a full-time occupation and obsession.
Jennifer is the award-winning author of Lenin Lives Next Door: Marriage, Martinis, and Mayhem in Moscow and Have Personality Disorder, Will Rule Russia: A Concise History of Russia.
The first thing Jennifer does in any new city is visit (not necessarily in this order) the main library, the largest farmers’ market, and the bookstores. If you would like Jennifer and her books to visit your library or store — or even your farmer’s market — please don't hesitate to be in touch.
